We do it to show case to the world what Kenya has to offer since matatus are a national icon and a large part of Kenyan modern culture.
WHAT WE DO
Our key mission is to create a platform where we showcase the art behind Kenya's Public Transport System (PSV) & also promote employment for youth as well as keeping die-hard matatu fans informed and entertained. We also offer designing and printing of promotional items services,Cinematography, Graphic & website design, Social network management,Touring and hiring services.

Our Mission

Preservation of Matatu art and its culture, as well as promoting youth employment. We strictly do not showcase or support uniform themed public service vehicles because it interfers with matatu art and they cannot achieve a full theme. After all first impressions are what matter most.

 THE MATATU INDUSTRY

Matatus originated in Nairobi,Kenya in the 1950s, used mainly by residents of the African residential zones to move goods as well as people to and from nearby rural areas to their residence in the city. The then existing bus transport system did not cater for these residential areas. The emergence of the matatus filled this transport vacuum. The matatus increased in number, especially with the influx of migrants into Nairobi upon the attainment of independence in 1963. The influx was made possible due to the removal of colonial restriction on African movement into Nairobi. At the start of the matatu operations, a standard fare of thirty cents was charged, irrespective of the distance covered. In fact, the term matatu is derived from the Kikuyu phrase "mang'otore matatu" which means "thirty cents", the then standard charge (Aduwo 1990). Today, the matatu industry is a major contributor to Kenya's rapidly growing economy and despite the government classifying the industry as an informal sector, its grown to be a multi-billion industry that provides employment for most Kenyan youth. Matatus also promote tourism since they are iconic and show Kenyan talent through their unique designs.
